Until recently the Washington Nationals were the Montreal Expos, a tough-luck team whose most notable accomplishments occurred during two seasons that were shortened by MLB strikes. Cheated by fate -- who's to say? -- they picked up and moved to D.C. in 2005. They're now known as the Nats, the only MLB team to have undergone a complete name change since 1972.
